Chris has practiced law in Boulder, Colorado since 1990. In 1981, he received his BA in English from Wesleyan University and his jurist doctorate (JD) from the Fleming Law School at the University of Colorado in 1987.
Chris has presented continuing legal education seminars in the following areas: sexual abuse of children, protection orders, custody decision making, custody rights for non-parents (such as grandparents), and protection order / restraining order.
Several community organizations refer domestic violence fictions to Chris for protection order, divorce, and parenting cases.
Although he practices less frequently in these areas, Chris has an extensive background in civil litigation and criminal defense. He has tried numerous criminal and civil jury trials and assisted several hundred clients in obtaining protection orders. He has also defended many protection order cases successfully. Chris has represented over 500 clients in contested court hearings.
In addition to years of mediation experience, Chris has recently completed a 40 hr training course in high conflict mediation.
